Declining rapidly… This used to be a good app but lately it began to suck hard. Now when you post something it doesn’t even show on Fresh. A lot of reposts. Would give 5 stars if you actually cared to fix anything.

Screen is constantly flickering, takes ages to load content and is full of ads. Screen flickering only happens in this app, I have never experienced this using any other apps. And other content / websites load very fast, so it’s not due to bad internet connection .

It’s a great app…but it’s 4 stars because when I surf through the app it just freezes up on it’s own and it shuts down after half a minute or so. But otherwise it’s great, there are a lot of fun things to see and it often makes my day really

9gag apparently deletes content with following content including grafics with these words in it: repost; complaining about original content (especially Twitter screenshots); it’s a shame. I invest hours and days for a meme and then 9gag published it only in your profile. Never online. Why I have buyed pro years ago? It’s a shame what 9gag have become. This is just censorship. Like China. So sad as is sounds but the cruel reality. Don’t buy it if you’re a real memer.

App takes up ridiculous amount of data. I opened the app and put it on idle and it used up most of the mobile data in 10-15 minutes. I really hope that the devs will look into this.

I have been using the app for years and over the past few months the app has worsened. It takes ages to load, it won’t refresh, and it takes a lot of time loading new content. Dont even got me started on how the 9gag community has fallen. This app was meant for great things. It had reached perfection and it changed for the worse.

Been using the app for several years. It’s gone right down the toilet. Nothing loads anymore, on data or wifi, no matter the connection. The posts seem to be fed by bots and desperate people trying to recycle the same material they found on the same website. There’s no point in using it anymore. It was good while it lasted.

The app has become insanely unstable with constant exits (closes, doesn’t crash), weird screen flickering and super strange hangs. All other apps work perfectly fine and 9gag used to run fine half a year ago also. I thought it would be just a version or two, but it has stayed the same across multiple updates now.

Good app, content getting worse as time goes on. My main worry is that nothing ever loads and please don’t try to tell me that my internet connection is not great. I have a 1gb line and a galaxy s10+ and I live in the UK. All i want is the comments to load. Is that too much to ask??????

Only problems I have with it now is the first video you come across keeps playing the audio on a loop in the background. And of course as with every meme app it’s filled with annoying brats.

One of the best meme apps out there. Love wasting time here. And being able to post your comments and upvote or downvote others is a plus. Also love that this app gives everyone a fair chance even if you dont pay for the pro status. I can do with the ads otyerwise I would upgrade.

9GAG is a great app and great place to come for the latest memes, news, and trends. I’ve been a user for 10 years now, and have had a lot of fun. I would recommend it to almost anyone, as the community is engaging and self-aware. However with all the positives undoubtedly come negatives and they aren’t few. I’d narrow it down to toxic users, and how incredibly out of touch 9GAG’s moderators and advertisers are. I support freedom of speech however, so I’m glad 9GAG does not censor… TOO much…

It drains my battery at a rate of 1% per minute. Fine. When I reopen the app I have to scroll for five minutes to get back to where I left off. Annoying. Advertising in the app? Fine, you guys need to make a living. The popup ad asking me to buy Pro everytime I open it is too much now. I’ll change my review when this changes.

This app is becoming complete garbage. A page for every group, the slow and annoying integration of ads, more and more of what we dont want and less of the thing we actually want. And now when i open the app it even plays an ad before I see anything. Great job 9gag you became the very thing you aimed to destroy.

How many more ads does this app need. i understand the whole “thats how we keep the app free” great app way to many ads though. It takes so long to open now. It’s not my internet mind you. Definitely not worth anyone’s time unless you want to sit watching an add you can’t skip, counts down from 5 and always stays stuck on 2secs left. The most fun I have with this app now is closing it. It’s sad I really loved this app before the forced adds.

It is so slow . . Slow in loading . Slow in scrolling . Slow in selecting . Used to be good . Fine on a pc with lots of memory . Smart phone . Waste of time .

Great app but the only problem I personally face is with the video playback. Like, if I am already listening to music on my device and come across a video in the 9GAG feed, it does not pause the music to play the sound in the video rather both the song and the audio from the 9GAG video overlap eachother.

What’s up with the new update? The notifications stays like as if I never checked them after I checked them. It requires me to refresh the notifications section for it to finally cleared. Previous updates didn’t have this so I hope it was fixed as soon as possible

Its a great app to pass the time, but you shouldn’t be on your screen for too long it could give you headache or discomfort you’re not even aware of, it can also suppress your social skills so remember to limit using 9gag and socialize a bit more.

How do you break things that used to work ok? Do you have a real testing process of some kind? This app is constantly introducing bugs. Test every feature. I don’t intend to submit defect reports for regression defects!

I blocked notifications from the internal Android settings AND turned off all notifications from the 9gag settings. Notifications still make my phone buzz and ding. I know it’s this app because after a buzz or a ding 9gag shows up at the top of my recent notifications. Silence your app and might reinstall.

Again and again there new bugs introduced with every new version. The newest doesn’t let you fully play gift because they are stopped within 2-6 seconds.

When switching to other apps, like messenger, and having 9Gag in the background there is sound from a video playing on auto. It is getting annoying that it can’t be stopped until app is restarted.

Long term user but new update opens ads on the first page and you cannot skip it. I don’t mind ads being in between posts it was acceptable but this is just a trashy way of annoying users. I guess this is how they show appreciation to their fans.Thanks ?

This is not the whole 9gag website rating, this is just for the application. 9Gag app is constantly getting worse and worse, crashes more and more, freezes not only itself but the whole phone.. performance its just going down. Lately i can’t even use the app, I click on it and it just freezes at the logo, app is on my phone just because i hope it fixes one day..

So far I’ve only had it for a few days but I already love it. It’s quite addictive and it can consume a lot of your time. But it has great memes and its just good distraction. You can also choose the boards you want to follow according to what you want to see and your humor.

There is a prompt telling me to create an account to enjoy all pro features ever since the last update. I really do not want to and now I am effectively locked out of the app as this prompt cannot be skipped.
